Epson l4160 service required reset password

I recently purchased an Epson L4160 printer and suddenly encountered a service required notification prompting me to reset a password. I have tried to reset the password following the instructions provided by Epson, but I was unsuccessful. Has anyone else experienced this issue with their Epson L4160 printer? How did you resolve it? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
